PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

We wish to communicate that on Monday, August 31, 2009, Acción Ecológica finally regained its legal status through resolution 069 of the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment.

We would like to take this opportunity to deeply thank all the people, institutions and organizations - both nationally and internationally - whose solidarity and support enabled us to recover our legal identity that the government of Rafael Correa arbitrarily and unjustly withdrew from us in February.

We would also like to say that, consistent with our ecological principles and in spite of constant threats and abuse, Acción Ecológica will always act with the same commitment in favor of environmental justice, the defense of human and collective rights, and the rights of nature.

COMUNICADO A LA OPINIÓN PÚBLICA

Con este mensaje queremos comunicar que el lunes, 31 de agosto del 2009, Acción Ecológica recuperó definitivamente su personería jurídica mediante la Resolución 069 del Ministerio del Ambiente.

Aprovechamos esta oportunidad para agradecer profundamente a todas las personas, instituciones y organizaciones, nacionales e internacionales, que con su apoyo solidario lograron que podamos recobrar la vida jurídica que el gobierno de Rafael Correa nos retirara de manera arbitraria e injusta el mes de febrero pasado.

Quisiéramos también manifestar que, consecuentemente con nuestros principios ecologistas y a pesar de los constantes agravios y amenazas,  Acción Ecológica jamás dejará de estar comprometida y actuar con el deber que nos convoca ante la injusticia ambiental, la violación a los derechos humanos, colectivos y de la naturaleza.
