Ecological Debt: is the debt accumulated by Northern, industrial countries towards Third World countries on account of resource plundering, unfair trade, environmental damage and the ocupation of environmental space to desposit waste. A particular and interesting aspect of it is carbon debt, as a consequence of greenhouse emissions.
Biopiracy: the appropriation of the knowledge and genetic resources of farming and indigenous communities by individuals or institutions seeking exclusive monopoly control (usually patents or plant breeders' rights) over these resources and knowledge (ETC definition)
Carbon Debt: is the part of the Ecological Debt due to the disproportionate greenhouse gas emissions done in Northern, industrial countries.
